There is a growing need to replace fossil-based plastics in packaging and other goods. Blue Ocean Closures (BOC) has demonstrated the viability of producing high-performance products, like screw caps, by dry molding of paper fibers into dense, strong, and precise materials. This joint project will test the use of new feedstock in the BOC’s processes, focusing on creating advanced products that outperforms current fiber-based alternatives. The project aims to significantly reduce plastic use, microplastic pollution, and carbon emissions, ultimately benefiting the Swedish forest industry.
